IPL 2021 Auction: 3 Teams that can pick Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadav can be one of the eye-catching players in the coming IPL auction

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to take place on 18th February. The teams are naturally busy planning for their respective teams for the coming IPL. But looking at the retention list, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) offered a surprising list where they released six players. One of the six players is Kedar Jadav.

Kedar Jadav was roped in by CSK in 2018 for a whopping 7.8 crore but injury-plagued Kedar failed to offer his service and he was ruled out of the 2018 season. The following two seasons also Kedar displayed poor form. He managed only 62 runs in 8 matches before he was axed from the playing XI in 2020 IPL. However, Kedar Jadav seemed to have regained his old touch in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this season, scoring 193 runs in 5 matches at a strike rate of 133.1.

Now there can be 3 Teams that can pick Kedar Jadhav in IPL 2021 Auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has already renewed the contract with its 22 players ahead of the mini-auction and seems to be one of the most settled teams in the League along with Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Still, the team might be in search of an experienced Indian middle-order batsman. They have young promising batsmen like Abdul Samad, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, and Virat Singh. But considering the experienced batsman, they have only experienced Indian middle-order batsman, Vijay Shankar. In that case, Maharashtra-born Kedar Jadav, if purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad, can be useful as a hard-hitting batsman as well as a sixth bowler for the franchise team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) can be among the 3 Teams that can pick Kedar Jadhav in IPL 2021 Auction. The team had been able to reach the play-off stage but lost successively and finally lost to SRH in the eliminator. However, they have released 10 players ad will be sitting at the auction with a purse of Rs 35.2 crore. RCB also seems to be in search of a middle-order batsman and Kedar Jadav can be their choice. Jadav had represented RCB previously and had a fruitful campaign in 2017. He had scored 267 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 143.54 in the season. An aggressive batsman like Jadav can be effective on Chinnaswamy Stadium that has small boundaries and a flat pitch.

Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab can be another team among the 3 Teams that can pick Kedar Jadhav in IPL 2021 Auction. The Punjab team has been struggling to impress in IPL over the last couple of seasons. However, they have a whooping Rs 53.20 to strengthen the core of their team. Glen Maxwell and James Neesham have been released. Kings XI Punjab now will need a strong batsman in their middle-order and from this perspective, the team owners might be keen to rope in Kedar Jadav whose form can strengthen the team’s middle-order.
