IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

The focus will be on debutant Jhye Richardson and veteran Shakib

Twenty20 format, especially the Indian Premier League is generally being played on such a pitch that it has become batsmen's paradise. The bowlers, even a world-class bowler look helpless on drab pitches and they are destroyed ruthlessly.

But after a long time, the pitches at the UAE where the last IPL was staged offered a different kind of pitches. Both the batsmen and the bowlers were able to gain support from the surface according to their performance quality.

Kagiso Rabada was the top wicket-taker last season with 30 wickets. He was followed by Jasprit Bumrah, T. Natrajan, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Trent Boult.

Mumbai Indians – Jasprit Bumrah

IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

Jasprit Bumrah who is now regarded as one of the finest bowlers in the Twenty20 format for his ability to deliver at block-hole consistently and with precision was instrumental in his team’s last year victory in the IPL. Bumrah captured 27 wickets and missed the purple cap by a whisker, to Rabada who got 30 wickets.

Bumrah also seems in excellent form this season. Mumbai Indians has also a few other useful bowlers. Still, Bumrah might finish the League this year with maximum wickets in his kitty.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Yuzvendra Chahal

IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

The wrist-spinner has developed himself in such a manner that he even was selected in the Indian team after his consistent show with RCB in the IPL. Yuzvendra Chahal has always been the bright spot amidst the mediocre bowling side of RCB.

Last year the spinner had acquired 21 wickets at an average of 19.29. He was the only spinner among the top five. Chahal’s key ammunition is his lethal googly that always confuses even a top-class batsman. This year RCB has invested in their bowling line-up, buying Kyle Jamieson, retaining Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa. Still, they will have to depend on their frontrunner bowler, Chahal. His performance will ultimately determine the fate of the team in the League.

Chennai Super Kings – Shardul Thakur

IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

The speedster from Mumbai might surprise the IPL fraternity by earning his place among the top five wicket-takers. Although he was not able to shine at the beginning of his career, Shardul Thakur has developed a lot and in India’s recent tour to Australia, the fast bowler had an impressive show in both Test and ODI. In the last season, Shardul was not played at the beginning of the League. In the coming IPL CSK is expected to field the bowler from the start of the season. Still, he had bagged 10 wickets in 9 matches at an economy rate of 8.50.

Delhi Capitals – Kagiso Rabada

IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

Kagiso Rabada, the South African fast bowler had been in fiery form in the IPL last season. He was the key man to have guided the Delhi Capitals to the finals of the last IPL. Rabada set up a deadly partnership with another South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje and the rest was done by the spinners.

Looking towards IPL 2021:prediction on top wicket-taker from each team, Rabada should be on the top of the list. He had ensured 30 wickets in the Last IPL with a superb economy rate of 8.34, dismissing batsmen by his sheer pace and variation. In the coming IPL also, it will not be surprising if Rabada chases the highest wicket-takers seat.

IPL 2021: Prediction on top wicket-taker

Rashid Khan had a decent season with his franchise team but was overshadowed by the quick bowlers who were instrumental in getting more wickets.
